An update on Manchester United’s pursuit of Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho has been forthcoming online on Monday.

The story surrounding the future of Dortmund star Sancho of course proved one of the talking points of the summer window.
On the back of another scintillating campaign at Signal Iduna Park, during which he racked up an eye-watering 20 goals and 20 assists, widespread reports hinted at a potential Premier League return for the 20-year-old.
The Red Devils were known to be on the lookout for reinforcements out wide, with Sancho having been identified as the club’s first-choice target.
A number of reliable sources even went as far as to suggest that an agreement on the personal terms of a contract had long been found between the parties.

Evidently, however, upon the transfer deadline coming and passing, Sancho remained a Dortmund player, as the United board failed to reach an agreement with their Bundesliga counterparts.
‘Leading the race’
If the latest word stemming from the media on Monday is to be believed, however, then Ed Woodward may in fact have been even closer to closing a deal for his prime summer target than previously thought.
As per an update courtesy of transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on Monday, Manchester United were on the verge of clinching Sancho’s signing, only for Dortmund to alter their plans at the last minute.
An agreement was in place, which would have seen the English international return to Manchester for a fee of €100 million.

The Reds faithful, however, need not fret just yet.
This comes amid further claims on the part of Romano that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men remain the frontrunners to finally push a move for Sancho over the line next summer:
